Y'all I'm getting a quote on hardscaping on my OWN personal project for the first time EVER later this week.
We have always DIYed everything. Decks, fieldstone patio, brick patio, kitchen remodels, etc. We've learned a lot, including when It's not worth it to try to do it ourselves and when we should hire a pro. Maybe we're just old.
Anyway, after we cut out the meadow and removed the nasty lilac shrubs from the side of the house, it became clear that the strip of grass between was just not going to cut it long term as the only pathway up the hill. It took me a stupidly long time and input from two other landscape peeps to help me figure out what I want to do here. It's so much harder to come up with ideas for your own piece of Earth. I think going with as naturalistic a look as possible is the way to go. Going to take it as a personal challenge to not be a control freak about it! Fingers crossed. 🤞
